What to Expect During the Home Study

The home study process is an opportunity for us to learn more about you while helping you prepare for your adoption journey. Here’s a breakdown of what the process includes:

  • Initial Paperwork & Documentation:  You’ll provide background details such as your personal history, education, and employment. These help create a complete picture of your family’s strengths.
  • Visits:  The home study includes three visits with your caseworker. One of these visits will take place in your home to ensure it’s a safe, nurturing environment for a child.
  • Discussions:  Your caseworker will work with you on subjects like parenting skills, marriage (if applicable), and family dynamics.
  • Support & Guidance:  We’ll be there every step of the way to answer questions and provide the resources you need to feel confident and prepared.

The information gathered during the home study ensures compliance with legal and agency requirements while setting the stage for a successful adoption.
